Current technology allows today to demonstrate a wide range of services telephony (in particular: ip telephony, audio and video conferencing). The highest functionality of such systems is achieved owing to maximum population coverage, possibility of reallocation of on-call channels and channel dynamic between users, as well as presence of interactive communication with consumer and low cost of user terminal.
Satellite communication allows to combine successfully all these characteristics and deploy scale networks of content delivery as soon as possible. Telephony is based on the most popular digital multimedia broadcasting standard DVB. In Central station network with terminals made use of standard DVB-S, in the opposite direction uses a different standard family DVB-RCS
Information meant for end users – video audio data, is concentrated in DVB packet which is formed at Central Office, in what connection the resource of this digital flow is distributed between different users in accordance with QoS established service level. This leads to efficient combination of real-time traffic (video, voice) and traffic uncritical to delivery speed.
Proposed solution is formed on the basis of the most popular standard DVB digital multimedia broadcasting. Use of DVB-S standard is fulfilled with terminals in Central Office (CO), other standard of DVB-RCS family is used backward.
Video and audio programs are broadcasted in digital form with the help of MPEG compression. Data communication and telephony are fulfilled by IP protocol. Network terminals receive DVB-S channel transmitted from Central Office with direct-link feedback. Special satellite resource with Multiple access, frequency and time-distributed (MF-TDMA), is used for contact of terminals with Central Office. Dynamic resource allocation between network stations is performed by Central Office on the basis of QoS service levels and priorities
The direct-link feedback of terminals with Central Office provides users not only with wide range of services, but also with functions of authorized access to delivered resources, including tariffication in real time and according to use fact.
Terminals can be installed at head-end station of local provider in access network (cable network, ADSL, radio access) or directly in the territory of user. Concentration of all functions in rights control of access to multimedia resources, authorization and tariffication, allows to whittle down operating costs of operators and exclude unauthorized access, delayed payment of services and copyright violation.
